My husband has replaced the dvd player in our Discovery 2.He bought it new from E Bay & it was sent from the USA. It is saying Invalid region,Is there some sort of reset code that we need???We would be very grateful for any advise
Most filmmakers agree that copyright protection of bai films is an important issue for du. In order to solve this problem, every DVD player has a corresponding region code. This code indicates the country in which the player was purchased and can be played in which country.
If you live in North America and buy a player made in North America, you will only be able to play discs produced in Zone 1 or North America. Some adult programs and technical programs have no code restrictions and can be played on any player.
There are 8 area codes.
The player discriminates the disc du based on the unified region code of the whole bai. If a disc can be played in more than one area, it will have more than one global area code.
·Zone 1: United States, Canada
·Zone 2: Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East (including Egypt)
·Zone 3: Southeast Asia, East Asia (including Hong Kong)
·Zone 4: Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Central America, Mexico, South America, Caribbean
· District 5: Eastern Europe (Former Soviet Union), India, Africa, North Korea, Mongolia
District 6: China
· Zone 7: reserved
· Zone 8: Special international zone (aircraft, ship, etc.)

If you want to make your players region free, you can go to VideoHelp forum and then go to the DVD hack section. Also, if you are suffering from region-locked DVD, you can try to download a region-free DVD player on your PC, such as Leawo Blu-ray Player.
DVD players designed for the US are set for Region 1 and cannot be used with DVD's that are from other regions such as Great Britain and most of Europe which use Region 2 DVD's . What you need is a "Region Free" player which plays all regions or a player that plays your specific region. We live in the US but watch many British DVD series so use.a Region Free player as they are Region 2 and we are in Region 1.
maybe you can return the player or at least get some sort of credit for it towards the correct region player. If you are unsure of your region, just Google it.
