Traction Battery Inop

I changed the traction battery but it doesn't work. I have a scanner but it doesn't give me any trouble codes. The on board screen sees the traction battery as 80% charged but all I get when I press the power button is the red triangle with the exclamation mark in the middle of it light up. And on the multifunction screen there is a red box in the upper left corner that looks like the front half of two cars opposing each other. The engine doesn't start at all. Does anybody know where I need to start with diagnostics?

I have already replaced the 12 volt battery along with the traction battery so this is not an issue.

The image of the 2 cars opposing each other looks like it wants you to 'jump start' the 12 volt system of the car. SO test the 12 volt battery and try. Videos on youtube show how to read the 12 volt battery in the MFD and how to jump start the 12 volt battery.

Check engine light on traction control light on cruise light blinking whats wrong?

When you have a check engine light come on, the traction control light and the cruise lights both come on as well. You need to have the codes checked with a scanner. There most likely isn't a problem with the traction control or cruise systems, the lights turn on because those systems work together with the engine management system or PCM. When there is an engine problem that sets a code that turns on the check engine light, it automatically disables the cruise control and traction control for safety reasons. Because the last thing you want is to have an issue with traction control and/or cruise control if your engine is having an issue, which is why they are disabled. The most common problem that turns on the check engine light is a loose, cross-threaded, or snug but not tight enough fuel filler cap. Subaru recommends three clicks of the cap to be considered tight. Also, any parts store can and will check and/or clear codes for free. I hope this info helps!

Whats it mean when it says check TCM for trouble codes

Hi KIM.
The letters TCM Are Traction Control Module. Most probably you might have a fault into driving and have any unsteadiness or well traction. It is logical to use a scanner to locate exactly the traction fault which is already got into the module and memorized . Happens to me on a Mini Cooper S Works 2006 where I spotted the fault on the back axle where the sensor was and due to mad the traction was seized. I cleaned the sensor washed and use a bit of silicon spray after washed with a good contact cleaner.

Check engine light is on&traction control comes on my 2010 chevy impala

Traction control is simply put that one wheel has lost traction...This can happen even if you just pull out on the highway and perhaps one wheel is on small gravels and spins just the smallest fraction the light will come on...Also it happens a lot when it rains....Only way to get light off is disconnect negative cable to battery for 10 seconds then re-connect and it will clear all trouble lights because it re-sets the system.Engine light could have come on because of traction light causing a false code...All this is normal....You could at least check oil level....Auto-zone will scan it for free to see if you have any issues...And clear the codes with scanner...This way you can check for unseen problems......But you are probably safe if car has been well maintained.............Brooks.....

Traction control lights are on

if you dont mind loosing radio codes, etc.
battery neg , resets it all , and they owners cry./.....

the dealer has a special too to reset it, no collateral damage.
open glove box, extract the oper guide. search for word
CODE, all those will be lost, at battery net lug pull.
so get all the codes first.
write them down, so when the battery dies, you dont need to beg for codes no one can give ,cept the dealer.

What does "Reduced Power, Traction Fault" mean?

GM's power strategy will reduce power if it doesn't see proper charging. It does this to conserve battery power by shutting off non-essential electrical accessories. It can also mean that the traction control system is reducing engine power to avoid a skid. The traction control system gets input data from the wheel speed sensors to figure out if you're entering a skid or the wheels are locking up. One way to get you out of the skid is to reduce engine power or pump your ABS brakes. In your case you should get the trouble codes read. An ABS or traction code code could be a C, U or B code which can't be seen by a cheap scan tool or the tools they use at auto parts stores. GM had major problems with the ABS wheel speed sensors built into the wheel bearing hubs in these vehicles. The fix involved replacing the hub. So get the codes read by a pro scanner to find out which wheel sensor is setting the code. Then do the fix. Also, the P0128 is usually caused by a bad thermostat. Fix that first, because if the engine doesn't get up to operating temperature, the computer can limit some features.

My indicator says "service traction

YOU MOST LIKELY HAVE A WHEEL SPEED SENSOR NOT WORKING RIGHT .YOU WILL NEED A SCANNER THAT CAN READ LIVE DATA TO SEE THE SENSOR .THE SCANNER WILL ALSO GIVE YOU A CODE THAT CAN LEAD TO THE BAD SYSTEM.

I am noticing a flashing light on my dashboard. The item flashing is a car with lines coming from behind the car. it is beside d seat belt icon. What does it mean, and how can I fix it?

the symbol with a car and 2 curved lines behind means:
"Slip control" or "Stability control" (also known as ESC, ESP, ASR or DTC) warning.
Toyota Trac Inop Light Toyota's traction control helps you maintain traction on wet, icey, loose or uneven surfaces. There are complex wheel speed sensors that will trigger the traction control safety feature as needed. If you see the trac inop light illuminate, this feature might be disabled. A Toyota service rep can access the trouble code and identify what is needed to fix any potential issues. - See more at: http://jeffwylerclarksvilletoyota.com/section/secondary/toyota-dashboard-indicators#.dpuf
