If its dripping from the Torque converter cover it probably needs a new front seal on the transmission. Gotta pull the tranny to replace the seal. Just make sure its not coming from above like where the tranny lines go into the transmission. sometimes a leak above will settle and drip at the lowest point.

SOURCE: front axle seal leaking

That means that you need to replace the seal, might as well do the bearing and the cv joint too.

Transmission fluid leaking for front bumper 2002 jeep grand cherokee

most likely it is leaking where it connect to the Trans cooler behind the front grill. If the trans lines use clamps you will most likely just need to tighten them up. If it uses quick disconnect fittings you will need to buy a set of quick disconnect tools about 10$ at auto parts store pull the leaking line off and replace the seal inside the line. Good Luck I hope that helps.

Leaking transmission fluid, most seen under left drivers side tire. What could this be? If its the front pump seal, do I need to have the whole transmisssion removed to reach it?? What is the transmission...

Well, you have to put the car up on a lift, clean fluid and find out where it is coming from. If the front pump area seal, yes, you need to pull the trans to fix that. If it is leaking from the pan, that can usually be changed without trans removal.

1996 Chevy K1500 4L60E trans problem

O.k. the small hose that you have coming out of the case is the trans vent. The one going up the firewall is for the transfer case. The trans vent should be hooked to the transfercase vent. You say you have a 383? Are you running the fuel injection system. Is this a 4L60E (the stock transmission). If you have fluid coming from the vent, the transmission is getting too hot. Replace the cooler. Do away with the radiator cooler and add one to the front in front of the condenser.

The transmission fluid and filter were changed out now truck just whines and wont go into gear

There should be a dip stick near the rear of the engine compartment with a red handle on it for the transmission. You want to check the trans fluid with engine idling and the trasmission in park. If it's full of fluid and the vehicle won't move you are most likely looking at rebuilding the trans. To change the fluid you have to drop the pan off the tranmission and the filter is inside. The filter just pull out, the new filter will come with a new seal that presses into the the pump housing. DO NOT attempt to change that seal, leave the old one in place, unless it is damaged. Unless you you have the proper tools to replace that seal you will most likely damage the transmission housing trying to remove the old one. Also, if the transmission is low on fluid, where did it go? Is it leaking on the ground? You may want to check the transfer case oil if it's way overfull the seal between the transmission and transfer case is bad and the trany fluid is leaking into the transfer case. You may want to change the transfer case oil too, they both take Dexron III fluid. Good luck!

Put in transmission in feburary.

you will still need add the proper type fluid to proper fill level, get under the truck, clean up transmission so you can visually monitor where the leak is coming from. Chock the wheels, emergency brake set, start and idle vehicle check for leaks. If trans is leaking it will probably be a front seal (oil will drip from small hole in the bottom of bell housing), pan gasket, loose cooling line to radiator, or rear tail shaft leak ( where drive shaft enters the trans.) Don't forget to check the lines for pin holes and the radiator for leaks.

Transmission fluid loss

The transmission is either going to leak out the front by the engine, or by the halfshafts, or possibly by the shift detent which is unlikely. Check the connections to the radiator - the small lines that go there as one of them can be broken. make sure everything is completely cleaned off and your transmission has fluid in it before you check it. If it is full, it should leak with the engine running in neutral or park. If not, you can always have your foot on the brake and shift into the gears to see if it will leak then. Smoked transmission when out of fluid may mean trans will not work any longer... Hope this helps you, Rick
