need new window regulator. the plastic gear wheel broke off of the mount. good website for this item is at partstrain.com i just replaced myine last month. easy job.
Sounds like the gear drive in the small electric motor that moves the window up and down has broken. You will need to replace the electric motor. You can't just buy the gear for it unfortunately.
actually you have thought of all but the prob. The track has jumped, making the motor not move the window. Sometimes you can gently slide the window up by hand and then the motor will catch the track and finish rolling the window up
It sounds like there is somthing wrong with the window regulatior ( the motor in the door that moves the window)
1.Remove the inner door pannel (all parts) 2. hook up the window controls & try moving window up or down, make sure window is moving propley in tracks and siscor arms are not bound up.
3.If all is well with the above stuff, just replace the window regulatior and test befor you reasembil the door pannel
yes it sounds like the window motor is getting weak but when i had it tore down i would check all of the track system to make sure the window will move up & down freely with the motor removed.
