2008 Kia Spectra cruise control light comes on but will not set

Most likely your cruise control module has failed. Check your brake lights. If you have no brake lights, the brake pedal switch has failed. If that part fails, your cruise will not work. If everything is working fine, it's probably your module. I would also check the fuses, then plug in a scanner to see if you have any trouble codes. Is the speedometer working? If not the speed sensor is bad and needs replacement it is on the transmission.

I have changed the brake switch and the cruise brake switch and everything works except the cruise.

This is hard to say without specific diagnostic equipment. If it was the speed sensor on the transmission then you would see speedometer problems. If it is the control module then it might be the whole computer and that is not cheap. If it is the cruise switch then you should have it diagnosed by a dealer because they can plug into the car and see if the signal is being sent to turn it on.

No speedometer or cruise only, everything working

Oh you won't have cruise control if the speedo doesn't register.Either a bad speedo cable(if manual)or a bad connection or speed sensor(if electric speedo).

1994 Volvo 940T Speedometer Works Intermittently

If the speedometer and odometer are not working the problem is usually lack of signal from the transmission speed sensor.
But if the cruise control works and the speedometer does not, my guess would be a problem inside the cluster.

Speed sensor failed. can i replace it

Sure you can if a mechanic can do it so can you if you have the right tools and knowlege. First you need to know which one thers's one at each whell at the fround rear end housingf the rear rear end housing and the one in the side of the transfer case where the speedometer cable would'of connected on an older model and then theors three in the sides of the trans mission, Touque converter speed forward turbine speed output turbine speed. What proble are you trying to fix? the speedometer not working? Abs light on? Cheack engine light on? Cruise control not working? If the cruise control does work the speed senser is good and the check engine light will be on if the speed senser is'nt working. If the speed senser is'nt working the car will only take off in low and not shift to seecond or any higher gear as the computer doesn't know how fast the car is going. If the speedometer is'nt working and it does shift and cruise and the check engine light is'nt on then the speed senser is working but the speedometer is'nt if it is'nt and everything else is woring then as your driving hit the speedometer with your fist and see if it comes back on they can get stuck and i've fixed quite a few and they stayed fixed. On to wheel drive models with the rear wheels jacked off the ground safty I've run the car up to speed and trying wiggleing the wires and connectors till I wiggled the right thing till the speedometer came on ( including smacking the speedometer ) Just don't hit it too hard as it'll bust just like anything else.

Speedometer works intermittently

It is most likely the speed sensor in the transmission.

U try to set cruise it dont come on also speedometer dont work

Fix the speedometer cable or VSS (vehicle speed sensor) circuit before diagnosing the cruise.

The cruise control is a separate system that uses speedometer information to adjust the throttle up or down depending on the speed detected.

Also, the actuator cable for the cruise control could be broken.

But, I would check the speedometer problem out first.

Speedometer and Cruise control dont work

It sounds like the computer system is still wet. I would wait a few more days before I panic and hope that it drys out. I don't think it's a fuse.
If you have to have the onboard computer replaced, it can run a couple of hundred dollars.
If you have the engine cleaned again, make sure that the electrical systems are protected well otherwise getting them wet will repeat your problems.
