VW 2006 I have only bought the car recently, and yesterday the Electric parking warning light is staying on making beeping sound, plus parking light staying on whilst driving, hand brake function working fine. Any ideas?? i know there have been brake callipers and pads fitted recently est. 3 weeks ago. Would this be contributing to the problem??

SOURCE: brake warning light on,beeper sounds when car is driving
Sounds like the sound when you leave the handbrake on. The same light as the low brake oil level will come on with the handbrake. And the warning sound coming from the cluster will come on if you leave the handbrake on and start driving to warn you that you left it on. Guessing your handbrake is not on and that your brake level sensor on the master cylinder is good (on the cap) check your handbrake switch and the wires there. You can unplug it and try it like that or you might have to bypass the 2 wires in the connector together. I can't remeber if with the handbrake on if it closes the circuit or the opposite. Once you have the connector in your hand you can unplug it with the car running and see if the light goes off. If not you can jump the 2 wires and see then. Or just check the switch isn't staying stuck. You'll see more once the handrake console is off. Just look around the mechanism of the handbrake and you'll find the switch.

Yes. Both lights usually come on when there is an ABS problem detected whereas the brake light will usaully only come on by itself with the hand brake or low fluid.
