There should only be one serpentine belt that runs the whole pulley system for a 2003 Chevy Silverado. The difficulty level of replacing it yourself is low. Check youtube videos for "How To".

Where is the tension release on a 2002 chevy silverado for the alternator belt

It's on the upper passenger side on the front of the engine, the pulley has a 5/8 bolt with a wrench on the top pull towards the passenger side to release the tension. To install route belt around pulleys release tension and install belt on alternator last then release tension making sure belt is on all around pulleys.

How do I change the alternator in a 2000 chevy silverado. It does not appear to be a serpentine belt, and the only answer I have is to take the pulley off of the alternator.

there is a belt tensioner it will use a 3/8 drive ratchet there is an index 1n the tensioner for it this will allow you to release the belt, remove the 14mm bolts and the alternator will be free

03 chevy 1500 sqealing when a/c on replaced pulley did not fix it. A/c quit yesterday any ideas... Compresor?

sounds like belt is loose and when load is put on it it just slips and wont engage the compressor and it will squeak. try tightening the belt or check to make sure your tensioner isnt bad

Chevy silverado 2000 serpentine belt replacement?

Mike, the belt routing should be on a sticker under your hood, these use a spring belt tensioner and it is easiest to us a 3/8 or 1/2 breakover to pull the tensioner back then the belt is easily removed and replaced, please do not rate me at all if it is not a fixya, thats the only reason do this is for my score. Thanks, and merry Christmas.

AC BELT NEEDS CHANGED

You have to remove the main serpentine belt first. this is done with a 15mm wrench put on the tensioner. then from the bottom you can get to the a/c belt tensioner. install a 3/8 ratchet on it and remove tension from belt. I find the only way to get belt on and off is too slip it off the tensioner then off the backside of crank pulley then slide off of a/c compressor then install new belt onto the crank letting it fall off the backside run belt around compressor tensioner then work around crank pulley
