Doubt its tranny more likely a mass airflow sensor or crank position sensor put vehicle on active scan tool while running watch the mass air sensor readout if it stops on a certain reading replace the sensor. Could also be a stuck egr pindle old engine codes would show this scan vehicle codes and get back to me

ive seen fault crank positon sensor cause this also clogged injectors cause this ,for sake of saving money try some chevron techron injecttor cleaner but if u end up having take this car in i would go to the dealer cause all places charge the same 4 labor n lot small shops cause more damage than they fix
