I had to change my head gasket and radiator because of overheating problem. now, the orange light on the dash for engine block ignites and the vehicle makes a rumbling sound. the vehicle looses power and shakes. pointless to speed up because the noise gets worse. whats my problem? 2003 outlander
"...makes a rumbling sound." Since you changed the head gasket, I suspect that you did not align the balance shafts correctly. There is a specific and mandatory sequence to setting up the 4G64 timing belts so the lower (oil pump) and upper balance shafts are correctly synced.
Get it wrong and the engine vibrates, often around 2500 rpm and higher.
You will have to set the engine to Top Dead Center, pull the cam covers off again, disconnect the tensioners, remove the belts, and realign the balance shafts correctly.

The rust is probably in the engine. There are many little pockets, water ways, water jackets (around the cylinders), etc, so getting all the rust out without dunking the block and heads in a cleaning tank is about imposible. I would recommend giving it really good flush every 4 to 6 months. I would try flushing the radiator before replacing it because it is probably not rusted, even though it is full of gunk.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear about your problem. I would take your vehicle back to the service facility where the work was done and make them corrrect the problem. Good Luck!

Either the head is worped and the gasket is still leaking or you may have the firing order wrong. I can't see this stuff you need to check it out.
