If you have good fuel pressure could be a fuel filter , if not it could be a timing issue

SOURCE: 1985 camaro that does not crank

Stop jumping all over the place!!! 1. check for spark. If none find out why. Check for proper timing. "basiline" timing at about 8 degrees btc. MSD units are nice when they work, but if no spark, pull it out and get an old style hei setup and stick it in there for a while.(hooks up with one hot lead) 2. If spark is working, check bowl levels on carb (I do this by attaching a syphon hose to fuel inlet and opening port on side of each bowl, adjusting level so fuel does not spill out and is just below level of hole. You checked the chain...is it in "straight up"? (cam mark down, crank mark up)
Fuel pressure should not be above 7.5 lbs. in fact, for start up testing I'd lower it a bit to about 5psi. (use a gauge) That way you won't be blowing needle valve off the seat. Unless you have the valves adjusted too tight, there is no reason for it not to start!!!
Good luck!

SOURCE: 2000 Chevrolet Truck S10 P/U 2WD 2.2L , loss of power

The first thing to try is a new fuel filter. There is sock filter within the fuel tank also, but it fails less often. If the engine has lots of miles, it may need a new O2 sensor although the codes should point that out if it were a problem.

SOURCE: Old chevy 235 six cylinder, when cold it falls on its face

Question, does it stall, or bog? A few things come to mind. You say the carb. is new, what is the cfm of the carb.? Could be too much carb. for the cam. It could be a problem with the accl. pump on the carb. dumping too much fuel on take off. Have you checked the fuel pressure at the carb. also? You say you checked the timing and vac. advance, but is the timing set high enough? Usually this is a sign of too much fuel being dumped. If you have the chance, try another carb. Let me know.

SOURCE: 1978 Chevy 1/2 ton Truck - fuel is not getting to

On the front of the carburetor where the fuel line comes in is the fuel filter.Did you change that?Take off that line and slip the end into a container, coffee can size.Have a friend turn over the motor, watch for fuel.If you get fuel your needle and seat have seized in the closed position. No fuel check the rubber lines that hook to the fuel pump. You replaced the pump,it's only $2 worth of rubber hoses. If they don't seal the pump can't pull the fuel,it's cheap insurance.

Isuzu kb 240 le power and idle problem

It sounds like there are multiple issues with your Isuzu KB 240 LE. A powerless engine and stalling can be caused by a number of issues, including:
  1. Fuel Delivery: If the fuel pump is not delivering enough fuel to the engine, it can cause a loss of power and stalling.
  2. Ignition System: If the spark plugs or ignition coils are not functioning properly, it can cause a loss of power and stalling.
  3. Mass Air Flow Sensor: A faulty mass air flow sensor can cause the engine to run lean, resulting in a loss of power and stalling.
  4. Vacuum Leaks: A vacuum leak can cause a loss of power and stalling.
  5. Throttle Body: A dirty or clogged throttle body can cause a loss of power and stalling.
  6. Engine Control Module: A malfunctioning engine control module can cause the engine to lose power and stall.
  7. Fuel Injection System: A clogged fuel injector or a failing fuel pressure regulator can cause the engine to lose power and stall.
It's recommended to have the vehicle professionally diagnosed to determine the root cause of the problem. The diagnostic process may involve checking the fuel and ignition systems, performing a vacuum leak test, checking the throttle body, and possibly scanning the engine control module for codes. Once the issue is identified, the necessary repairs can be made to restore proper engine performance.

5 Signs Your Car or Truck Has Dirty Fuel Filter DoItYourself com

What are some signs of a bad fuel filter? Symptoms of a bad fuel filter. One typical example of a restricted fuel filter is a vehicle that cuts out or loses power driving up an incline, such as a bridge. Under load, fuel demand increases and a clogged fuel filter reduces the needed flow. As the fuel filter gets dirty, the fuel pump works much harder.
Can a bad fuel filter cause your car not to start?1. Car is hard to start. One of the first symptoms of a problem with the auxiliary fuel filter is hard starting. 1984. Why does it run fine during cold weather and sputter when it is warm and I punch the gas pedal?

could be low float level, low pump pressure/supply
blocked fuel filter
when cold the engine is running on choke setting which draws more fuel from the carby
when it is warm the choke is off and if you have a flat spot ( (sputter) , that indicates a lack of fuel or maybe a bad accelerator pump or power valve
if the carby is a holley then replace the power valve and overhaul the accelerator pump.

I just installed a holley blue electric fuel pump and regulator. When I get on the highway I cant go more than a couple miles before I lose fuel pressure and have to pull off the road to refill the bowls...

Several things for you to check. I'd start with the fuel cap. Try to run the truck without a fuel cap on it and see if the problem occurs, perhaps the fuel cap is creating a vacuum and keeping the gas from flowing. Then, try taking a long hose and run it from the electric fuel pump back to the gas tank, and run the pump and see if the pump will pump continuously for 10 - 30 minutes. If this does not work, perhaps the fuel supply is blocked or the fuel line hose is collapsing between the pump and the gas in the tank.
Another thing could be is the fuel filter on the carburetor itself. Many carburetors have a screw-in fuel filter right where the gas line attaches to the carburetor that has a metal or paper filter inside. If this got dirty with all your work, perhaps that is it. Be blessed.
