Have you chg. fuel filter? If so, best to do a fuel pressure test, sometimes( not always) when the pump gets warmed up they can loose a little pressure and thats all it takes just a few # under recamended p.s.i and the truck quits running, you may hear the pump run but its not putting out the correct pressure until it cools down and it starts working again, but after a while quit all together.

SOURCE: Describe your trouble shooting 91 gmc truck

test fuel pressure by renting a fuel pressure test kit from schucks or auto zone then turn key on then off if it hits 50 psi it's ok if it drops below 20 psi in one minuter then fuel pump is bad. if it has throttle body injection then replace the injector or pull it apart to see if it is plugged.check oil pressuer switch behind the distributor to see if it is bad it will cause it not to run if defective.

2001 sunfire start good cold but not when engine is hot

It sounds like you have a "flooding" problem, where you are getting too much fuel on the warm start. It takes more fuel to start a cold engine than a warm one. By holding the pedal the pedal to the floor, you are telling the computer to do a "clear flood" operation, and that lets you start the car. The culprit is probably the Coolant Temperature Sensor. If this is faulty, it will tell the computer that that the coolant (thus the engine) is much cooler than it really is. This results in the engine flooding when warm. It may also run rough at idle after warm start since it is still getting too much fuel. You will also notice a massive loss of fuel economy. Replace the coolant temperature sensor.

Check the temperature sensor...it tells the computer when it's cold, and changes fuel mixture accordingly. (same as a choke used to do)
