The Triangle indication:
Description: MASTER WARNING LIGHT.
The battery ECU has a self-diagnosis system. If the computer, High Voltage (HV) battery system or the components are not working properly, the ECU carries out a diagnosis to detect the malfunction, and illuminates the master warning light in the combination meter together with the HV system warning indicator on the multi information display.
NOTE:
The master warning light illuminates when the HV battery system fails and it blinks when in inspection mode.

the ecu is a bcm? so many things are ecu. if this was a plane...we could make a bfd with the faa. so its not the flashers, its a symbol used in other cars too that dont have hybrid electrics. so now i want to ask, is that an iso standard symbol? the triangle for warning flashers or not or both. doesnt seem like they would do that. does it just mean hazard warning and this car also incorps. a bcm to shut systems down, indicate trouble and provides a diag.? i also want to ask can it be out into self test without special equip. by the driver?

What does it mean warning light TRIANGLE WITH SNOW on TOYOTA PRIUS 20 dashboard

Hello,
There is absolutely nothing wrong with your car. It's actually keeping you safe! If the outside ambient temperature is +37F or lower, your car knows this and gives a warning for possible black ice conditions. Lots of people wonder the same thing, next time it shows the warning, note the outside temp to see if it's below +37F.

I hope this info helps!

Warning lights

On a Prius, when the check engine light comes on it indicates a malfunction in the powertrain control system. You need to have the car scanned for codes to see where the fault lies. The red triangle lights because the check engine light is on. The VSC is disabled when the check engine light is on and that light comes on.
Start with having the car scanned.

A warning light appear with my hibrid prius

I have same engine problem. Triangle signal pop up after I try to start my Prius with a still wet air filter to the car . The engine just run for less than 30 sec. and stopped with the triangle signe pop up. I think this sign will pop up whenever the engine detect certain major function failure. For my case, it was due to retricted air supply to the engine. I have tried Lovebytes suggestion and the triangle sign disappeared with a dry clean filter. My Prius is running good now. This warnig sign may have other implications. Once you try this method and sign still come on. You need to have your car check by garage.

I had the same problem. I unplugged the relays from the fuse/relay box under the bonnet. (Top left side) and replaced them. The problem disappeared. (2001 Prius 109,000 miles)
