Truck will only start with starting fluid. Why?

I suggest check the "reset" procedure in the Owners Manual; this is armed when you disconected the battery or when dont sue the right key. Check ANTI-THEFT or PASSLOCK system section.

Good luck.

Most likely you have a small air leak somwhere in the system, check your fuel filters and make sure they are tight as well as the lines to the injectors and bleed the fuel system to eleminate the possibility of trapped air in the system. The fuel pump also could be getting week, have you tested the fuel pressure? Is your tank over half full? if not it should at least be 1/4 full to prevent fuel pump damage.
The 1st thing that MUST be done is to have the electronic engine control system computer (called the "PCM") scanned for fault codes, this gives you the starting point for diagnosis od why the warning/fault light is on. You can get the scan for fault codes done for free at any Autozone or similar discount auto parts store in your area. Aamco Transmission does the scan for free as well.
Hello there and welcome to fixya
Normally you WILL HAVE THE RESET PROCEDURES IN THE OWNERS MANUAL BUT IF NOT PLEASE TRY THIS pull the positive battery off the post and leave it off for 10 min then reattach it AND ATTEMPT TO START THE VEHICAL IF IT STARTS GREAT HOWEVER IF NOT TRY THIS
turn the key to on DO NOT START THOUGH LEAVE IT THERE FOR 3 MIN THEN TURN THE KEY TO OFF FOR 30 SEC THEN BACK TO THE ON FOR 3 MIN AGAIN THEN REPEAT THIS STEP 1 MORE TIME THEN LEAVE SIT FOR 1 MIN THEN ATTEMPT TO START THE VEHICAL
SOURCE: My truck won't start it just keeps turning over but won't start
Does it have fuel pressure? Does it have spark? check these first then post the results.
