Screen is made of liquid crystals that have to be warm inorder to function. The older they get the more susepitble to cold they area and are slow to react. There is probably a fuction built in to alllow warning of the screen and prevent damage.. Read your manual
It sounds like you inadvertently set the speed warning (you can set it in the OBD to warn you if you go over a certain speed). If the car has nav, look under the "settings", second page, and turn it off or set it to something like 85. If you don't have nav, I'm not sure where the setting is but look for "speed warning" in the manual. Hope that helps.
Did you ever find a solution for the QX56 nav screen? Mine is doing the same, I have been told it is navigation unit or possibly the screen. Was wondering if you had any luck before I pay money for something that doesnt fix the problem. Thanks

give the dealer a call
good luck
Its usually not the nav unit. Best way to find out many dealers have a demo nav disc ask them to pop it in if it works then u know the disc is at fault not the nav unit. The bad news it the disc costs about $300. Hope this helps please rate if it does.
