The best thing to do is to take your truck's registration to the parts department of your local Ford dealer. They need this to verify that you actually own the vehicle and they use the VIN code on the registration to look up the codes in their computer system. They can cut you a new key using the code.

also...the selling dealer keeps the actual chips that were with it when it was new. they keep them in the "jacket" in a vault or secure file system in their dealership finance office. codes are on the chips and the chips are on keyrings

locksmiths have a keyalike procedure that is available to them thru their books. they remove your old parts to identify your needs. discuss it with them to see. dealers can choose to provide the chip to the owner as a service

Need keyless entry code 1998 mercury mountaineer. I need to know how to reset or determne the keyless code to get in.

If you have the Keys to the vehicle you can get in. Giving that code out will put other vehicle at risk. If you have a manual it will have the reset code in it. Try using the manual first if that does not work go the dealership.

The one click might indicate a bad starter. If some one can locate the starter on the drivers side underneath. Then tap lightly on the starter with a hammer or something with a little weight while your holding the key over in the start position the starter may catch. Also check the battery connections .

Need a key code

Hello plymouth7265, my name is JShreader. Thank you for choosing fixya.com.

The Key Code for this Vehicle is located inside the Passenger Door Panel. You will need to remove the Panel to get to it. You will see the Code on a White Sticker on the Door Metal on the other side of the Window Brackets.

I hope this helps you. If you have any more questions or need any more diagrams, please don't hesitate to ask...Thanks again, JShreader!
