Climb into the trunk compartment through the rear seat and pull the release cable in the trunk lid. After opening the trunk remove the covering over the latch. Look at the trunk actuator release cable and while using your remote button see that the release latch move when the actuator pulls the cable. if only the actuator moves but the catch does no, the cable has slipped out of the catch fork or the cable end swedged ball has slipped out and is now too long. If the cable ball has slipped and is too long you will need a new actuator. If the cable has slipped out of the cable retainer you will have to fish the cable through the retainer and hook the swedged bal in its fork retainer.. To do this you will probably have to remove the trunk lock actuator and fish the cable through its proper path and capture the swedged ball in its fork. After installing the cable adjust the actuator so the cable is not so loose that it will come out of its track. If it does come out again after adjusting properly, the ball has probably moved and you will need a new actuator.
You have to get to the trunk lock mechanism from the inside through the back seat. From center of the lock mechanism, just to the driver's side is a "switch" the needs to be "slid up". After that, should work like before. For the pic orientation, you are looking from outside in & over.
