Starts every time , first turn of key, runs to 60mph , then acts like its is running out of gas, I let up off the gas and it stays running , and smooth's out, possible block fuel filter , after building up pressure , fuel filter looks new
Changing the filter would be the first step. If no change test the fuel pressure at idle and with engine revving. If pressure is good at idle pressure regulator most likely good. Then if pressure drops of when revving most likely pump. If both good clean and test MAF sensor.
Any check engine light on>?

it sounds like the check valve in the fuel pump is letting the fuel bleed back into the tank

Hello, yes the check valve is in the fuel pump assembly. The check valve is leaking and the pump will burn out soon. Unfortunately the aftermarket fuel pumps can be very unreliable. A good portion of problems we see on this site are from people who replace the pump sometimes twice and it still doesn't work.

replace your MAP sensor(manifold absolute pressure) the map sensor is the computer for your fuel pressure regulator telling how much pressure. Unless your tahoe runs like **** going up hill than it inevitably your fuel pump

I have a 90 chevy k1500 350 tbi with same problem! I have traced problem to... after turning on key fuel pump kicks on when u crank it over injectors shoot gas and truck starts! After few seconds injectors stop spraying and truck dies! This can happen many times over and over! Eventually sometimes truck stays running and all is great! I changed ignition module, oil pressure sending unit (which i was told controls gas after vehicle is running) fuel filter, computer, fuel pump relay, I am at a loss now! Hope this helps and hope someone can help me!

try bypassing the oil pressure switch on the back of the block behind the distributor, if there oil pressure switch goes bad it will do this. had one that drove me nuts trying to fix it then figured out I had to buy a book and low and behold thee it was 3 wire oil pressure switch you can't see between the engine and fire wall just behind the distributor and costs 8 bucks to buy new.
