The alarm keeps going off when I put key in the ignition. I can't get it to turn off unless I disconnect the module under the dash. Also, I have power when this is happening, but the car wont start, acts like the battery is dead. Charged battery overnight, and still nothing! Please help. Just put another $200 getting the pulley and timing belt replaced.
The alarm brain should not be the easy to locate if stock. Put everything as it was. The alarm brain, control, module or whatever any one wants to call it is most likely behind and under the radio possibly on the floor but in that area. That is if it is OEM if not then it should have been installed under the instrument cluster. I should be a small box probably held with zip-ties and it should have all the information, manufacturer, model and wire functions on the brain. If you think he found the right thing then have him look for the red wire that connects to it. It should have a 15amp fuse on the cable. If its taken out this will disable the alarm. What ever he found should say Security, Alarm or something like that. Not door control or anything other.
Disconnect the harness or any cables to it. This should disable everything. There will be no ignition kill nor anything impeding you from starting the car. If after disconnecting the security system you still have a problem with the car then I have a feeling the problem is else where. Possibly not related to the security system. Let me know what happens.

It is a factory alarm. My son-in-law located a fuse type box under dash and when I disconnect that, the alarm goes off but the car still will not start. That box has a sticker that lists all the wire colors and what they're for. He seems to believe that controls everything that's listed on the box. The remote buttons weren't working, so I bought a new battery and still same issue.
O.K. I got the module or box, whatever it's called. It says Ford Motor Company - Vehicle Security System. On the other side is a sticker that has descriptions as follows: 1. Parking light output - White
2. Door lock output - Blue, etc., etc. and is listed under (A) Main Harness. Above that it says, Wire End Views. Does any of this make any sense or help at all. My wife is livid. We are on a fixed income and can't afford to take to dealer or mechanic. Thanks again. p.s. It connects to a plug that has all these different color wires. It is connected by pins, like modules are connected.
factory alarms dont give wire color codes. Please look closer and find
the name of the manufacturer of the aftermarket alarm and re-post.
CodeAlarm, Viper, Clifford, DEI, Alpine, Ungo, eXcalibur are all popular brands.
Even a model # will be helpful if the manufacturer cannot be determined.
A picture of the remote can be helpful as well to determine the manufacturer.
When the alarm goes off it cuts off the ignition. Did the alarm come installed from the manufacturer or did some one else install or have it installed? Are there any stickers about the alarm on the windows or windshields? Do you have a remote? If so what does it say?
factory or aftermarket alarm??
