Hello. I believe there is a process for setting the pintle length on the idle air control motor...you need to look at a shop manual and it will detail how to measure the stickout of the old iac. Then you turn/ adjust/ unscrew the iac pintle. The pintle is the part that sticks out to regulate the idle by opening or closing/blocking the idle air port. If you do not adjust the stickout, the pintle is either out too far or too short, and then the motor cannot effectively regulate the idle. It burns the motor because the computer(ECU/ECM) keeps telling the motor to open or close the port MORE but it's at the end of the travel and burns up due to running constantly. Hope this helps...Good Luck, Brian

Those generally don\'t "break". What usually happens is the get a piece of carbon or a small chunk soot that sticks to the shaft and causes the idle control motor to stick in a partially open position. Take it back off and clean it and re-install it. It will also take the computer a few minutes to reset the engine idle once the new idle motor is installed.

Moter ideles rough ,using lots of gas, dies when put into gear.

Earl! You could have bought a new car! Ah, but you must love this Ford truck, it's obvious from the never- say- die parts list. How long has this project been going on? If you plan on finishing it yourself. here's my thoughts: Invest in a good scan tool (about $150-$200), a good compression tester ($40), a vacuum gauge ($15), a multi-meter (your choice-a useful one starts as low as $20, a digital volt-ohmmeter (multi-meter) designed for auto electronics is desireable), and last, maybe a fuel pressure tester to round out the list (about $40). Maybe you have all or some of these already. They are all good diagnostic tools you will find very helpful in getting to the root of your problem. The place to start is with the scan tool. Look at trouble codes, look at live stream data. Both will help you a lot. Do a compression test. Find out the internal condition of the engine. New parts are good. Now make them work.

My truck dosnt get hot in the cab blows warm cool air!

I would check your heater control valve, that, or the core itself being bad, are the two most common problems I've had with Chevys.

96 VW Jetta Trek 2.0 engine Problem with idling i have changed the speed sensor already it runs rather well while driving but as soon as my foots off the gas pedal it stalls.

To be certin of the actual cause you will have to get a diagnostic run on the vehicle..

But from the top of my head,
1.) Check the air flow meter(sensor) this can attribute to idling problems

2.) Maybe your fuel injection system needs servicing, check your gas filter for any signs of dregs, this is a sign of a MUCH needed servicing even if its clean dont rule the servicing out

3.) DNT ADJUST THE IDELING SCREW, this is computer controlled , you will need an autodiagnostic tool(scanner) to help reset the ideling..

I4.) Check the Air filter, This is the primary cause of rough ideling. You can just take it out and see if the performance changes, this is how most machanics check the filter, oh and it also looks dirty.

my money is on the Air Flow Sensor or the Air filter
