How do i get the gas out of the tank on my Kia Sedona

If the fuel pump works unhook the fuel line at the fuel rail and slip a neoprene hose over the end put the other end in a container next find the fuel pump relay in the under hood fuse block remove the relay and use a piece of 14 gauge wire to jumper relay cavity #30 to #87 this will turn the fuel pump on if you can't hear the pump run bang on the tank to see if you can make it run. I hope this helps. Take care.

Fuel pump won't cycle when the key is turned on 93 Chevy astronaut 4.3 eng

For initial prime, you have to check fuel pump relay and wiring circuits. The control/coil side of relay gets voltage from pcm, green wire with white tracer. The ground for control side of relay, should be a chassis ground. Voltage for load side of relay is fuse protected.
This vehicle has an oil pressure switch in fuel pump circuit, just a redundant power supply to the fuel pump. Even w/o the relay the vehicle should start and run, once the oil pressure builds up and that switch closes, the fuel pump will get voltage. There won't be any initial prime w/o the relay.

Just brought 2000 chevrolet venture van have fuel pump isseu but not pump i checked fuse box someone have a small black wire connected to fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay that blow so i replace both...

It's possible someone used the jumper wire to load side of fuel pump relay, gray wire. That supplies voltage to fuel pump motor, the fuel pump fuse is hot all the time. The fuel pump will run all the time even with key off, running down the battery. They used the jumper because of some kind of problem. Can you unplug the relay and check relay terminals, where the relay plugs in. Use a test light, either a problem on the load or control side of relay. Are the relay terminals numbered, like 30 and 87, maybe 85 and 86 also?

If relay worked when placed in another vehicle you must have a wiring problem. trace wires from fuse block to relay checking for corrosion or short.

1998 chevy astro van sometimes works, sometimes not.? At timesm rarely, the astro will crank but will not start. Fuel pump not cycling and making its hum noise so I changed the fuel pump with an AC Delco...

When you first turn on the key, no crank, the fuel pump should run for a few seconds then stop. There shows to be an oil pressure switch in parallel with the fuel pump relay. It's just a redundant power supply to the fuel pump. Once it cranks enough to bring up oil pressure and the switch closes, the pump will run even w/o the relay. Both the fuel pump relay and oil pressure switch get voltage from the ecm b fuse.
At the fuel pump connector, check voltage and ground, when problem is ongoing. Gray wire is voltage--black wire is ground.
You could pull the fuel pump relay, use jumper wire between terminals on load side of relay. The load side is that line with arrow head, when energized that line moves to the other terminal. As you can see, the orange wire is hot all the time, the gray wire carries voltage to fuel pump. If it runs with jumper, then check control side of relay, the control side has to have voltage and ground, dark green wire with white tracer is voltage comes from pcm. The black wire is ground.

My fuel pump keeps running fuel rail up to pressure even after the car has been stopped. i cant find any leaks and thought the pump should stop after turning off ignition. any ideas

The fuel pump relay has to be checked.Usually, when this relay fails it gets stuck in the on position, allowing the fuel pump to continue running even though the car is turned off.Fuel pump relay is under dash above E-brake. Fuel pump relay has 2 White with black stripe wires thar are 12 volt with ignition on.

1991 chevy cavalier- stopped running going down road. Replaced fuel pump and fuel pump relay-ran for two weeks and the when making a stop, cut off again and won't start and is blowing the fuel pump fuse...

Sounds like a short between the fuse panel and the fuel pump relay. This can be from the fuel pump relay itself through an exposed bit of wire, or even a defective relay which seems to happen more than most times. Check the wiring to the relay and wrap or tape anything where bare wire may be exposed. Disconnect relay and try a new fuse. IF the fuse doesn't blow, then the problem source is the relay itself that is defective.

Hope this helps!

The vehical won't start, even when turned over!

Before you change the fuel pump check the fuel pump relay. it is located under the power box. The power box is just behind the battery, under the hood. The box is attached to the fire wall. After removing the power box another plastic piece holds all of your relays. I would check this first. I had the same problem and it turned out to be the relay. I found out after I changed the pump.

No Power to Fuel pump

I would check the ground for the fuel pump relay that operates the switch side of the relay.
You should have 2 12v inputs to the relay. When the relay gets 12v input, it closes the relay switch on the heavy current side that sends 12v to the fuel pump.

A relay is needed because you don't want heavy current going through the switch.

Also, most cars only run the fuel pump for 2 seconds when the key is turned on because you don't want the fuel pump running without the car running. If you listen closely at the fuel tank, you should hear the pump run for 2 seconds when you turn the key to "ON"
When the key is turned to "START", the fuel pump should run continuously.
The engine computer tells the fuel pump to shut off if the engine rpms are zero.
So, I would check the switch side of the relay. Power amd ground.
