I have a 2005 ford mustang v6 and lately when I put the car in drive it won't move I press the gas and it then jumps into gear also I was driving one day and the car sound like it was in neutral I was...

sounds like the transmission is low on fluid. Have you noticed any fluid on the ground under the car? Have any mechanic check the level, could be a rear main seal leaking. If not then you have transmission problems. Also try putting the car in low gear and see if it does the same thing. could possibly be just a linkage problem and an adjustment will cure it..again any good mechanic can figure it out easily....good luck

Why won't my chevrolet silverado move when put in gear?

Hi, I am guessing it is an automatic transmission. Try putting the gear shift lever into a lower gear and see if it moves then. Sometimes the shift linkage gets mal-adjusted. I would also check the transmission fluid level. If it is really low, the tranny will not work either. If the fluid is really low, you'll need to look for a leak after you refill it. I am assuming that the transmission worked when you picked it up from the shop that repaired it.

My car has been leaking transmission fluid in the front and causing low fluid issues.

Not really a question

You know We can not see that
& You have to get under it to

Drive Axle Seal
Pan Gasket

On day it will over heat from low fluid &
you ruin the trans,if that hasn't started already

Whats it mean when transmission fliud is always low and no leaks. and when low will not move when shift in any gear but when fluid is aded it will go then

Really!

Come on

If it is low,it is leaking out,common sense

If it is low & you continue to use the car, you
ruin the trans

Transmission

If you are always adding fluid, that means you have a leak somewhere. Put a piece of clean cardboard under suspect areas under car overnight to check for obvious leaks. The one hard leak to find is when the trans cooler in the radiator is leaking internally. Open your radiator cap (only when cool) and see if it looks oily inside. If so, you need to replace your radiator, and I suggest you flush your cooling system at the same time.

How do you know for sure transmissino is shot

Low fluid doesn't mean the trans is shot. if it's full of fluid and won't move then it most likely is shot. if the fluid keeps getting low then you got a leak some where, most likely leaks while your driving like an axle seal. could also be in the cooler lines or front seal. get up under it and look for areas that are wet. it will lead you back to the leak.

Low transmission fluid

The only way the fluid is low, is
that you have a leak to repair

You really have to ask why that would be a problem

If you have used it with low fluid,you may have already done damage

High pitched noise, engine shuts off at idle

You need fluid!! The high pitched noise yu hear is air in the hydraulic sections of the transmission. Top up the fluid then find out where the leak is

1996 Honda Accord automatic transmission lay-out?

Hello;
You will probably be ok for a while if you tow it, fix the leak, and change the fluid and filter. Honda makes a pretty tough transmission. Depending on how much destroyed clutch material is in the pan when you change fluid will detrimine how long it will last. Make sure yu use the correct fluid in it. Wish you the best. Hope this helps, and please rate me highly.
Thanks;
Rich
