SAE is the rating of the viscosity of an oil.. So its the code that comes after the letters "SAE" that's important.. For instance my car requires "SAE 5W-20" oil. It's the 5W-20 part that is important.

Where is the BCM located on a 2001 Mercedes e320

NO COUNTRY told at all. sold world wide and not the same. sorry.

no problem told at all , not even a tiny hint, only a false HUNT.
must it be called a BCM???
German is K?rperkontrollmodul
well those is USA /ASE /SAE names. (usa standards)_
we use are own names for USA EFI system devices
the Germans use non of our names. they use THEIRS only
the schematics on those are super hard to understand unless you read German./
what I do is print out those schematics and rename all those wild and strange names to ASE names. (did some full restorations)

if you want to go full blown german and understand there wild elien
conventions start here.

https://automotivetechinfo.com/2007/06/information-help-interpreting-mercedes-benz-wiring-diagrams/

next time name a problem and I can show the schematic
and tell (decode) the germans name to you, seen on the prints.
we are fixya , not huntya.
this car, say interior body systems failing
controller is called N10 and a37 , N70 and more
no problem told there can be no answer, ever.
sorry , we can not see what fails on any car,
IN THE BLIND.

Is SAE 5W - 30 ok for my old Jeep and Cheyenne...

Its probably ok but I would recommend 10w30 for anything with more than 100,000 miles on the odometer.
Also, 5w30 works better in colder temps, the first number is the "cold thickness" and the second number is the "hot thickness". The bigger the number the thicker the oil in basic terms.

Is 10w30, or 10w40 ok to use in my 2004 trailblazer which has over 130,000 mi

I use 10W40 in my 04 trailblazer plus i put Lucas Oil Conditioning because my car has a lot of miles on it. Almost to 250,000. But the lucas helps it to run like its new. They have a couple different ones I usually go with the one that lubricates my valves and helps with knocking and rough running. I also use the lucas transmission fix. I tried the other brands and they dont compaired to lucas in my opinion. I home this helps.

What kind of oil should i use for a 2004 Chrysler town and country?

Driving conditions / oil

(Note all oils are NON-DETERGENT)

City hot / SAE 20W - 50
City warm / SAE 10W - 40
City cold / SAE 5 -30 or 5W-40

Rural hot / SAE 20W - 50
Rural warm / SAE 10W - 40
Rural cold / SAE 5W - 30

Brand does not really matter as the SAE designation makes them all the same other than a few manufacturer specific additives i.e Techron ect.
