SOURCE: Location of oil filter on Nissan Altima 2005

The oil filter is located behind the right (passenger) inner fender cover. It is right next to the crankshaft pulley at the bottom of the front of the engine facing toward the right front wheel. I do not have a picture at this time.

Hope this is helpful!

SOURCE: CANNOT FIND THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR

cerebral_eni: The crank position sensor is located at the back of the engine block just below the cylinder head. It actually projects into the bell housing and reads the teeth on the flywheel where it references TDC for #1 cyl and RPM's of the crank. It's a "Hall effects generator". Unless you are into electronics and have a lab scope to look for a square wave pattern, I will continue with my other input.
Nissan has a recall campaign on the crank angle sensors.
The campaign # is 07V527000:ECM update for stalling;
NHTSA07V527000 NOV 07,
The symptom was brief malfunction of sensor causing the engine to quit running which could potentially put the vehicle at risk for a collision. The sensors would ultimately fail. There was also a voluntary recall on the reprogramming of the ECM's due to stalling problems. TSB# NTB07-081, Campaign ID#R0712
I hope this information is of some assistance to you. You may be able you get your car repaired under warranty! Good Luck!

My 2005 Nissan Altima won't shift out of park to drive it will if I use a screwdriver in the gear slot how do I fix this problem?

You take it to a qualified repair shop . You have a problem with shift interlock system . Safety system that won't allow the gear selector to move ,unless drivers foot is pushing the brake pedal . Has a brake switch , locking solenoid , an is electrical controlled by the shift lock control unit .

Location shift solenoid

There is a shift "lock" sloenoid keeping the shifter from moving out of park unless the ignition is on and the brake pedal is depressed. It is located below the shifter shaft mechanism. Any other shoft solenoids are located within the transmission just above the oil pan.

I'm replacing the shift solenoid in my 2004 Buick Rendezvous but I can't find any diagrams showing the location or how to change it out. Can you please help?

WHen you refer to the shift solenoid, are you meaning the solenoid that locks and unlocks the shift lever? If so, before you change this, check if your brake lights are working! A common fault for this solenoid to not work is either a blown fuse or failed brake light switch- the solenoid is activated by you pushing the brake pedal which sends its signal from the switch!

I hope this helps? Good luck!

My 2005 Altima gear shift gets stuck in Drive and I can't shift to Reverse or Park. It happens only occassionally. If I sit there and fiddle with it for a few minutes it eventually shifts, but I know...

in order for the shift lock solenoid to release a stop lamp signal must be received. the 2 most common causes of an intermittent inop. shift lock solenoid would be (1) intermittently the stop lamps do not work (stop lamp switch, etc.) or (2) intermittently the shift lock solenoid receives power but does not operate (bad solenoid). There are certainly other possible causes but I'd begin by confirming the stop lamps turn on when the shift lock does not release. Hope this helps

The shifting gear locks, like inside the console. the only way I can change the gears is when i stick a pin into a small hole located on the top left of the console.

Either your brake light fuse, brake switch or shift lock solenoid is bad. Any one of those being bad will keep the shifter locked. Have them checked out.

Wont shift out of park unless I stick a screw driver in a small hole above gear shifter.

You must remove the console yes, and you need to replace the shift lock solenoid.
