When should you replace the timing chain when you replace the water pump

It looks like your water pump on a 3.5L is run off the timing chain. I got some info which may help see it but may not be the exact as your car. If you are having some problems with overheating from what I saw looks like you have 2 thermostats and after changing thermostats, you can have air trapped in your engine, which will still allow engine to overheat.

The water pump has to be replaced.Also inspect timing chain.Many a times while replacing water pump timing chain also gets misaligned.

Basically its said,that when water pump is replaced,its also advisable to replace timing chain.The timing chain is either worn out or while replacing water pump,the timing chain got misaligned.It has to be inspected.Most probably,it needs to be replaced.

I have never heard of a car that changing the water pump requires access to the timing chain. Just the wreches.
