Tried cleaning the plugs? try turning it over for some time to get rid of any water condensation in the tank, try not to flaten the battery, allso you could try spraying some easy start into the air fillter ,let me know if this works

SOURCE: 1998 vw jetta clutch

hi from uk if as you say clutch slips in high gear ie engine revs are not compared to speed you should be doing ? then i am afraid that considering age and probable high milage of car the cars clutch is on its last legs and rqs renew not a difficult or long job to do on jetta but for the moment try not to drive car too much as it will/may fail completely no drive! then you will incurre breakdown/recovery charge ? a stich in time ? saves nine ? hope this helps you?

SOURCE: steps for replacing wiper motor for 1998 VW Jetta

remove wipers. remove plastic covering by loosening plastic screws first. unplug wiper motor wires. there are about three 10mm nuts at the motor location and you also have to unscrew the big nuts that were below the wipers when you unscrewed them. replacement is reversal.

SOURCE: electronic immobilizer

most likely cause is the gauge cluster, this will have to be tested and service by your local dealership because the dash cluster and keys have to be coded. I have seen the immobilizer loose it's coding for apearantly no reason. therefore have them recode cluster and see if problem goes away, if it doesn't the gauge cluster will have to be replaced.

96 vw golf gti vr6 just replaced water pump everything was fine until today when it was idling heard a pop then steam started coming from defrost vents antifreeze on passenger side floor

More than likely heater core leak, I assume you are losing coolant. I've changed a couple heater core in my life but nothing like changing the one in the video. I saw 3 videos, and all said you have to pull the dash.

My vehicle as indicated is a vw jetta 1998 mk 3 model it has stood for 9 months after being accident damaged ...it starts but cuts off after two revs ..dont know what to do have tried everything

Hi. Does this happen with both keys? If so, or if you have only 1 key, then check that the transponder in the key has not fallen out. If this is not the case, then make sure the battery is correctly charged. Then with the ign off, disconnect both of the dash cluster plugs and reconnect. Try again. If the vehicle still does not start then I would need a to know the stored faults in the immobiliser to help further.

2002 VW Jetta 1.8T it will only idle when you hit the throttle there is no response. it will not rev up. but it doesnt cut out. it just stays at an idle the whole time

If drive-by-wire, then problem with sending and/or recieving unit for throttle.

If conventional, you probably have a broken throttle cable or throttle control rod.
