SOURCE: 05' magnum keys stuck in ignition

It is possible that your problem is with the shift lock actuator. Charge the battery up. For safety sake charge the battery outside the car. If your ignition is on you don't want to hook up jumper cables. If you do it wrong you can spike the computer. Once you have a strong battery put your trans down in to low and then firmly back into park. The shift lock mechanism is meant to keep you from starting the car without putting your foot on the brake, but if it fails it can be engaged and not let you go back into park. Use a test light to check all your fuses if it still will not work. If that does not do it, start it in neutral and take it to the garage.

Hope that helps.

SOURCE: my 2000 dodge caravan will not start some times

HELLO i had the same problem with my caravan 2000 the problem is that your starter contact are worn out. That is very easy to fix ,you have to removed your starter from the engine, and you will see a little cover with trees screws right behind the post where your battery cable plug on the starter remove this cover and your contacts are right there.Be sure when you will install the new ones they have to be flush with the plate behind if thoses are in angle after installation they will worn out fast in fact change the plounger to you can purchase the parts at the starter/alternator repair shop it is about 20 bucks.

1995 olds royale 88; fixed fuel pump, starts then shut it off and re start but nothing happens; sat over night, started right up three times in a row but the fourth not a chance; what's wrong?

You'll have to figure out if it is a fuel or ignition problem.
Is the check engine light on ? Have you checked for trouble codes ?
It could be a relay, the ignition module, coil, key switch, or a list of other things.

Nissan qashqai turns over but won't start. has happened 2 morns in a row but starts easily later in the day

If you have tried cranking up the engine a few times, but nothing happens, you should pause after the first few times. Then retry after 2 to 3 minutes; it may start. But, the main fault possibly lies in the ignition relay, so that would have to be replaced to stop this problem one and for all.

Turn key, nothing happens

It could be the park/neutral switch, next time it doesn't start try wiggling the shifter in park while turning the key, or shift to neutral and see if that will work. if that doesn't change the problem I would replace the ignition switch.

04 chevy malibu

If the light has not stop blinking when you wait ten minutes then it is not going to crank. My does it a lot but after 10 minutes the light has stopped blinking. I think that the ignition switch needs replacing or maybe just the key is worn out. I think when anybody goes to fix this GM problem it is a guessing game.
