Hood latch on my 1990 buick century is broken I need to find a diagram of the assemby of hood latch.

Miguel, 1993 Buick century hood cable broke. With a flashlight, you will have to lay under car and reach up where cable runs into latch and pull the latch mechanism/lever to unlatch hood. If not comfortable doing this call a locksmith and they will have it open in seconds. Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck

Check the hood latch and cable to be sure that they are not partially stuck and that the handle inside is not partially pulled and stuck.

like most cars you go underneath with a nicle long snap on screwdriver and try to either lever the operating lever over or push up the side of the round taper/ball on the end of the bonnet locking rod

Quick and easy... Get a saws all and slice that ****** open, get a new latch and whatnot from the junkyard. Don't have a saws all? Get a hacksaw blade raps on paper towels and duct tape around it for a handle and go at it. That duct tape may come in handy until you can get a latch too!

It is quit easy just make sure you have the routing diagram there is usually a sticker under the hood. the belt tensioner has a cut out in it that fits a 3/8" or 1/2" drive ratchet to use as a lever.

have someone pull the release while you push down/lift up on the hood. If you get it open , put a bit of grease on the latch mechanism , and check the allignment of the pin that is mounted on the hood.

you can often release the hood latch from under the car, or through the grille, by reaching up to the hood latch mechanism with a long screwdriver or pliers, or a piece of coat hanger, whichever works in your particular case. G/L

all you have to do is grab flash light look through the grill should see were the cable goes through hood latch should be able to reach it with screw driver to push over and unlatch or you will have to go from under front bumper to unlatch.

Hi Angela, what you need to do is look under the hood and basically locate the backside of the light that your wanting to change the bulb in. You'll see a wiring harness going to that area. Give the plug a twist and pull the old bulb out.
