Please check your transmission fluid...engine must be running and tranny warm...add a bottle of Lucas Oil Transmission stabilizer fluid...you don't need to drain anything...this cleans and seals your fluid...hope this helps...
check that it is not the fuel pump operation as it will give this noise if it is operation with some pressure in the lines.. The other source of this noise is from an automatic aerial that has a broken raising gear/ cable
yeah , the fluid needs to be checked, the dealer needs to pull the plug and check the levels and fill it accordingly, it my need to have a fluid change also. it sounds like a shift solenoid, but i would have the fluid checked out first.
yes it is.. take it back and make them give you a new filter and watch them do this...check the area ON THE ENGINE WHERE THE FILTER SEATS and wipe it clean..then on the new filter..it it sits upright on the engine..make them fill it up before they put it on, and PUT OIL ON THE GASKET OF THE FILTER..then hand tighten to 1/4 turn after contact..then 1/2 turn with the wrench..some new filters are made en-mass and arent checked for certain deficiencies after manufacturing..I have seen several new ones have pinholes in the filter even tho its new..make them give you a new one free..
I used SFR (Superior Friction Reduction) with 80w90 gear oil in a Ford differential and experienced an increase in MPG. Mine never made noise but I am in favor of the friction conditioning fluid with the gear oil. I ran that car for 270k miles and the rear axle was as quiet as new.
yes, but if you look under your hood, you should be able to narrow down where the noise is coming from in that large engine compartment. also think about replacing the belt tensioner as well since you are replacing the belt with the idler pulley. its good preventative maintenance!
the Aviator transmissions are "SEALED" units and have NO dipstick.
If light comes on better go to Lee Myles or wherever but Lincoln will rake you over the coals.
