Can I conclude front cv shaft on the right side from your posting? If this is a yes you will have to pop the shaft out,pry the old seal out and very gently(a large socket works well) tap the new seal into place. If you are not handy I am afraid its a trip to the mechanic.Service on these is replacement only.good luck

SOURCE: I need help with Axles for 2001 Hyundai Elantra

depending on how bad the axels are. you could buy new ones. or you can buy a rebuild kit. now for the leak just 1 seal but if your gonna remove both axels i suggest buyin both side seals.

Driver side axle leak

front or rear? axle.
movement where
in, out, left right , up or down,. or all?
its a 3D world post directions.

btw, most seals that leak are due to bad bearings allowing the shaft
to beat the seal to bloody death, fact. (Timken.com)
only 1 exception, but is not where you are.

Rear axle leaking at right rear wheel

DO NOT WAIT- MY DEALER SAID I HAD A SMALL LEAK IN SAME PLACE, BUT DIDN'T SAY IT WAS URGENT. SEAL BLEW OUT DRIVING ON FREEWAY, DAMAGED ONE AXLE BEFORE I COULD EXIT. $1200 REPAIR. IT WAS NOT MAKING ANY NOISE TILL IT FAILED. SOUNDED LIKE TIRE THUMPING TO ME. DEALER REPLACED BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE SEALS, RIGHT SIDE BEARING AND RIGHT SIDE AXLE.

JUST HAD RIGHT FRONT WHEEL BEARING REPLACED ON MY 1998 DODGE RAM 1500 4X4 DROVE 50 MILES NOW THE AXLE SEAL IS LEAKING WHY

Can't remember if your axle is set up like the ones on a Jeep (too many cars stuck in my head) but if it is, the seal is on the inboard end of the axle and easy to forget it's there. If you don't lift the axle so it goes through the center of the seal when you put it back in, it will push the seal out and cause a leak.
If that's the case, whoever did the work needs to make it right. (carrier needs to be removed as well as the axle, to replace the seal)

Gear oil leaking from right rear wheel

Axle seal is leaking, but upon inspection, double check that it is ONLY the seal and not because of a bad wheel bearing or a ridge worn in the axle itself from the seal and/or bearing

2005 single axle F-350

Yes you will need to pull the axle to get that seal out. You will need to pull tire open punkin or gear case there will be a C clip holding the axle inplace pull this out and very carefully slide the axle out the seal is in the axle housing

1994 buick roadmaster, oil leaking out of right rear axle, checked brake fluid is full, could it be differential oil leak @ end of axle??

If what you see leaking is very oily and does not evaporate, likely it is an axle seal. If there are no leaks in the brake system, that's the only thing back there that can leak. If the axle bearing is going away, it can damage the seal so make sure you look for small shiny metal flakes behind the seal when you replace it or you will be doing the job again very soon. Can't remember...that IS rear wheel drive right?

I own ahuyandai 1993 has been leaking for awhile seals were replaced right boot was changed right axle was changed still leaking alittle

Your problem could be, Over-filling! No mattter how many times you changed the seals, if you over-filled the system, it sure would find some way to leak out. Also the seals' housing may be out of roundness. If you could get under the car, and used a good hand-lens to look around the seals you might be surprised to see how the seals fit around the axles.

1999 dodge cummins 2500 front axel seals

you need to pull off wheels, brakes, rotor /unit hub bearing, both axles and intermediate shaft, as well as the vac disconnec ton the front axle tube. if only the right side leaks then only then only pull the right axle and intermediate shaft and vac disco. it is a trick with a miller tool to replace the seal. the left side seal is inside the diff and the carrier has to come out to replace it. pete

Rear Axel Seal Leaking, How do I pull the axel to repair?

You will need to remove the differential rear cover, drain fluid, remove wheel, brake drum, (rotor) . Unbolt center diff. pin, carefully remove (don't loose shims) push axle in remove lock keeper, then slide out axle, replace seal, put some grease on it, slide axle in reverse all to install.
