How can i disable my airbag in my 1984 corvette

In a nutshell, you disconnect everything attached to it and slide it out the passenger side between the subframe and frame. Obviously, you have to disconnect all of the fluid lines, the tie rod ends on both sides, and the 2 (or 3) bolts that holds it in the car, along with the steering shaft.

Back seat? If no backseat there should be a switch on the dash, sometimes a key hole to disable it. (On/Off) If you want to permanently disconnect it you have to remove the dash and look for a yellow wire, only airbags have yellow wiring and remove the plug for that side. This will also cause the SRS light to come on and stay on until you take it to a certified airbag repairman. Meaning no airbags will work.

you pull a fuse and wait 30mins
or pull a fuse and pull a yellow connector.

yes those were the early dash clusters that were bad you need to replace it with a new or reman one try ecklers.com for starters go to a store and buy a corvette magazine they all have ads in them for these hope this helps

call modulemaster.com they rebuild clusters. ask for the tech and he will tell you if what your experiencing can be rebuilt.

if you open the passanger door there is a slot for the key. you will need to press the button on the circular key to pull out the real key.  Don't do that!The airbag is a safety device which can save the life of the passenger in case of an accident!However,as the Corvette is a 2-seat car,if you are talking about a child,I strongly recommend you to install an aftermarket Passenger Airbag ON-OFF switch.That is possible even for older car models

have you had the alternator checked out?

It may be underneath the middle of the front bumper.
A metal pull lever.
