there should be a hole in the pulley that you can stick a screwdriver through and it will fit into a hole or spot on the block to hold it while you loosen the bolt.

Check the distributor, inside the distributor cap (big-black). There may be a short in the coil windings, lowing voltage output. If the resistance at terminals battery positive and ground on the distributor is (ohms) is OL (open circuit) then there is your problem, same if no resistance. Check wiring to distributor. Check relays and ignition fuse in distribution box. IF all are good suspect ignition module (small moon thing loxwer inside distributor cap.

It should be located under the distributar cap if I am thinking of the correct part you are asking about.
It should be a half moon looking little black box about the size of your thumb depending on how big your thumb is.

usually if the magnet in the sensor comes out it destroys the cam position shaft,(it should have a half moon shape when u remove the sensor from the cam pos/oil pump drive. if the half moon is damaged or missing u must replace the cam pos/oil pump drive, and yes it is timed with the engine. wot i have done is try to locate where the half moon was on the drive it usually leave a trace of where it was. now index where the half moon is at remove hold down bolt and remove the driver assy. install the new drive, clock the half moon shaft to match the one u just removed once u get the half moon shaft where u want it and the oil pump rod alines and the whole housing is down install the hold down clamp. now to get rid if that check engine lite youll have to plug a scanner in and look at the live data adjust the cam position till u have plus or minus 2 degrees

I have the same car and had the same problem, when you pull down the head liner you will find the motor for the moon roof. i disconnected the motor so that i could analyze it. i found that the gears in the moon roof motor are made of plastic and most of the gear teeth were chewed off. i disconnected the wireing harness from the motor and left it unplugged, i then pushed the moon roof back into position and tightened the screws to the moon roof. That is the way i left it for the past 2 years, because i was not about to spend the money t fix the motor.

if the problem is the big half moon gear,I did fix it easy,it need A$3000 australian dollar to buy a second hand one,then I try to fix myself,I cut a match a Fiat fan belt to 2 piece to replace the gear,it work till now.

i have a 2004 saturn vue and my moon roof will not shut ,
how can i fix this? is it expensive to fix?
