SOURCE: Where is the fuel filter located on a 2006 Ford

Hello there:
if you have your filter great or if not use FRAM G8018 from WalMart for around $8 and then get the fuel line removal tool from Pepboys or autozone for $7. Tool should be 5/16" fuel line disconnect.

  • No need to raise the vehicle.
  • Due to the amount of fuel, that could come out I would use battery powered work light, not 110V AC for safety reasons.

  1. Pull relay #53 from fuse panel under hood. This disconnects fuel pump.
  2. Start engine and let it die. Restart again.
  3. Filter is located under passenger side center seat.
  4. sometimes more fuel will come out than expected. so make sure to Use a clean oil drain pan, or coffee can to catch the excess fuel .
  5. Use tool to disconnect fuel lines. Loosen single screw/clamp. Note the direction of filter.
  6. Replace filter, tighten clamp screw, reconnect fuel lines.
  7. Replace relay. turn the key to the on position for 45 seconds to get the fuel back in the lines
  8. Test by starting car, shut it down, look for leaks. If no leaks start car again, let idle and inspect for leaks again.
Hope this is very helpful for you.
Best regards Michael

Ford freestar 2006, cylinder 6 code po301 cylinder 1 misfire

Standing on the passenger side.looking at the engine. Number 1 is the first cylinder on your left. Follow the wire to the coil. unplug it at the coil, lay the end of the plug close to the tip of the cap and start the engine. If there isn't multiple sparks, replace the coil. If there is , replace the plug and or wire. If you still have a misfire after that, do a compression test on number 1 cylinder.

2005 ford freestar check engine code reads misfire clylinder 1

Check that cylinder's spark plug wire for breakage or other wire contact with other plug wires. Do a voltage check on the coil and replace the spark plug in the offending cylinder. Cylinder misfires have also been known to happen when that cylinder has a vacuum leak.

Diagram of the motor

Don't need a diagram for that!

Just follow any of the spark plug wires, one end goes to the spark plug and the other to the coil.

Good Luck.

Where are the spark plugs in the 2006 ford expedition

The spark plugs are located below the 'coil pack' in a hollow tube in the head. You must remove the spark coil retaining screw to access the removal of the soark coil. The reoval with expose the spark plug at the bottom of the hollow tube in the head. The total spark coil is about 6-7" long and when it comes out that is when you will see the spark plug at the bottom of that tube. It sounds difficult to find but once you know it is easy. There is no coil wire(typical spark plug wire) attached to the spark coil. It is fed by a special connector on the side of the spark coil. Look on the side that has the least number of hoses and equipment in the way. Find the top of the spark coil (about 1-3/4-2" in dia) with a wire connected on the side. There is a single small metric bolt holding the spark coil in place. It will not come out until that screw is removed. I hope that this helps.
