My jag dlr says my 90,000 mile maintance will cost me $1,600.00 i thought it was to replace spark plugs and drive lubricant. 2003 s-type 3.0 pls. comment. jerry

Well the let me just say that at 100k miles your plugs are due...But you can do this yourself 8-10 ea....I would recommend that you have the transmission flushed for about 300.00. Change the air cleaner filte 25.00 ,the cabin filter 25.00,change the oil and filter 50.00 (sythetic from Walmart)Remove the differential oil 35.00 ,check for brake wearI would get a bottle of 44k fuel system treatment and fill up the tank.Check the belt for cracking...If your ac is still blowing cold I wouldnt bother it...but the mantenance can be done for a fraction of what they want...I hope this helps you.Ask the shop who flushes the ****** to replace differential fluid...its very cheap to do..We charged 35.00 because it had to be sucked out and pumped back into the rear end.But I HIGHLY recommend the ****** flush...thanks and good luck

Hi, i have just purchased a 2007 1.8TDCi focus. When should the timing belt be replaced? It has done 105k. 1 dealer has told me 100k and another 120k.The dealer I purchased it from has gave me a free...

I say the dealer you purchased it from probably knows it is near time to replace if not already over. I recommend you take advantage of the free replacement. It is much better to change a little early than to let it go until it breaks. Some engines can be severely damaged if the belt breaks while they are running. At the very least, when it breaks the engine is dead until it is fixed.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Your check engine light is letting you know the your car computer pick up a bad signal from one of your engine sensor's you need to have engine diag. done to correct the problem, some car have a maintance light which is just for maintance Hope this was helpful goodluck.

Can you tell me what should be done on a 90,000 mile servicing for a 2005 honda Accord. I am getting different quotes from different dealerships/facilities. Thank you!

You need to have the cam belt & water pump replaced at 110,000 miles not 90,000. You should have the transmission fluid changed, brakes & all hoses inspected. The coolant should be drained, thermostat replaced and fresh coolant installed. Of course the air & cabin filter should be replaced every 30,000 miles. The fuel filter is permanent and needs no replacing. Brake fluid should be changed unless you have already had this done. Serpentine belt replaced at 110,000 miles with the cam belt.

Timing Belt

Safe bet on a timing belt is every 60k miles. Remember it's not just the belt - it's the tensioner also, as well as the water pump, thermostat, spark plugs, spark plug wires, all fluids, all filters, brake inspection, tire rotation, and an inspection of lighting and suspension parts. Plan to pay quite a bit if you don't do it yourself.
