So the starter doesn't crank at all?
I know it's silIy, but I can't help but ask if you're absolutely sure that the battery has enough power.
If it does have enough power the problem could be that the immobilizer is active. Try to hotwire it:
There is a panel with relays on it behind the dash. At the bottom of the steering column, by the drivers feet, there is a panel. Remove it to get access to the relay panel (just a couple of torx screws, no breakable clips as far as I can remember). Remove the "double size" alarm relay (probably marked 210-211). Put a wire between the terminals 50E and 50F. This will hotwire the immobilizer and make sure that it always activates when turning the key. As long as the relay is out you will not have a working alarm and probably not remote central locking either.
If this doesn't help the starter might be broken or (more likely) have bad wiring. Try starting the engine by pushing the car.
