My 1992 sl1 saturn was stolen and recovered when I got it back I got it back with a loud squeking noise coming from the serpentine belt area. Sounds like loud crickets and when I accelerate the squeak gets faster and louder, when I come to a stop it stops too for the most part but if I stay in place and rev the engine the squeak starts up again?

It sounds like an idler pully needs replaced. The bearings are going bad. It is not hard to do this, but more than likely that is what it is. You should also replace the belt.

2008 Saturn Vue belt that squeaks when I accelerate, rpms go up to 6000 before shifts

When I have had trouble with V-belts squeal or serpentine belts the belt is loose need to adjust tension or tension pulley bad. Belt wore and needs replacing or some of the pulleys are dragging while rotating or turning, could be bearing for pulley going bad.
Check belt is tight, look of high wear a lot of cracks in the belt. You can try loosening the belt and turning the pulley which will turn and see if they odd sounds or stiff to turn.

2000 Saturn sl1 has loud engine noise which seems to be either the (dead) a/c unit, something else on the serpentine belt (very few miles on it), or it could be the timing belt (which I read is an issue...

the best way to determine the cause of the noise is to remove the drive belt and start the engine for a few minutes. if it is in the drive belt components then the noise will cease. if not then the noise will remain.

Squeking sound coming from the one of the components that the Serptine belt is connect to, the part is at the bottom of the engine.

hi a squeaking noise from serpentine belt normally means it is loose and needs a new one, or if it is one of the pulleys for definitely, it sounds like the power steering pump or the air-con pump just depends on what side of the engine it is, check belt first though as this is normally the thing that squeak's hope this helps

I have a fairly loud humming noise when i am driving my 2001 saturn sl1. This occurs when i am driving straight or turning to the left. If i turn to the right the humming noise goes away. (it sounds to...

I would start by checking your wheel bearings. Do this by pushing back and forth on the top of your tire or car near the tire. If the tire wobbles back and forth at all your hub assembly should be replaced. For this problem I would check for this first.

Making noise

the average man can not pull the tensioner back by hand for the tension is so great. If your belt does not stay taught while the engine is running replace the tensioner & the belt too. Referring to the word TAUGHT is not bobbing up & down while idling

2000 plymouth grand voyager 3.3 V6, loud noise in serpentine belt area

remove belt and check the pulleys. this belt routing is odd and its very tight. i have seen many failed tensoner pulleys on these. it should spin smoothly and quiet. and grinding or bumpyness in it and i would replace it. check all pulleys while your there. they are not expensive.

good luck,
Michael
