My 2007 chevy silverado engine hot/acoff light comes on

I had the same problem on my 07 silverado. Nobody could figure it out but it turned out just a thermostat. I was sticking on occasion and tripping the sensor. The message that comes across the dash is the same for any heating/cooling problem.

Outside temperature reading on my 2009 Chevy Silverado truck is always 4-8 degrees lower than the actual outside temperature.

the outside temperature sensor on vehicles takes the temperature of the air about 2-3 inches off the ground, that close to the ground it might be a couple degrees colder than the temperature on the thermometer you have mounted in the window of your house.

Fans wont come on at all in my chevrolet silverado 2007 it will run hot if we are still but, if we get moving the engine cools down immediately

sounds like you have a bad temperature sensor/fan switch usaully located on the radiator. turns on fan when coolant reaches operating temperature. when moving the ram air going thru radiator is enough to cool the engine without the fan,
