My 2005 Jeep, Navagation screen goes off and on, how doI fix this?

Have the codes read. You may have the display, some one could have taken it out. Usually unplugs it. Used car places do this often.

You can probably find a Manual online for that feature. What you will have after choosing Navigation versus Entertainment is 2 tabs in the upper right of the screen. One is Dest (destination) and the other Menu. The Dest will get you a screen which allows you to enter your City or State, then City. Everything is then presented by street, address number and so forth. Some screens allow for Zip code instead of typing the City.

The Menu tab allows setting choices on what type of roads you travel. You can also select notifications of Hazards, avoiding Toll roads or Ferries. You can set volume and even voice types.

If you bought this vehicle new it should have possibly has a disc,if used the previous owner possibly has it or its mis-placed.You may need to check ebay ect for a new one.Possibly youtube to see how to work the time ect.

Loose connection inside radio. This will require an electronics repair man to fix.

Then either the CD is damaged or the CD reader is defective.

You might be able to find a suitable replacement for the switch itself at an electronics shop. It is most likely just a standard switch soldered to the circuit board inside the navagation unit. I would recommend asking around. I have had some luck getting stuff like that fixed at the local TV and Radio repair shop.

The only other choice would be to take it to the dealer and either send it out for repair through whomever they use, or exchange it. (Many dealers have an exchange program where they sell you a repaired unit and give you credit for giving them your unit. They then repair your unit and sell it to someone else.)

this ask for a code or some thing? if u disconnect battery may need to put code.

its in the trunk, remove the panel that says navigation, hit the eject button and replace the disk. make sure the car is on while you do this. it will automatically load the new disk

you will have to order this disk from the manufactures website or, call the dealership. they can order it directly for you. unfortunately, this disk isn't available in a retail store. its a private disk only available threw the manufacture of this unit.
