My rear brakes are shot and the only ones we can find at the wreckers are from a 1997, will they work?
If the set up from the 97 is drum brakes, yes. If the set up on the 97 is rear disc (four wheel disc brakes), then you will have to do some adapting. Rear disc brakes were the upgrade, the calipers "should" bold right up. But I would have to see it.
Geezus the wreckers should have a book to tell you other wise call the ford parts guy and ask.
SOURCE: 1989 Ford ranger rear antilock light on rear brakes lock up
metal particles on the trigger wheel sensor of the rear differential case, this causes a loose of signal and the light to come on. also a broken tooth on the trigger wheel inside the diff can cause this or a dirty/corroded connection to the sensor from water intrusion.

There are 2 pieces, but you shouldn't need to replace them both,
You have 2 (metal) on each side of the differential running towards the wheels.one is shorter than the other and meet at a small distribution block
Please rate this fixya solution.
