I purchased my 05 ford freestar fall 2013 and it had the same problem. I had a couple of fuses removed from the fuse box under the hood which solved the problem for a while but one of the fuses controlled the heat so I needed to find the problem. Right after I bought it I got a letter in the mail from Ford to get the tourk converter changed at their dealership. After that was done I assumed I still had the battery drain and took it to a shop to get it looked at. The guy put all the fuses back in and had a tester on it all day and could'nt find a drain. I took it home and have'nt had a problem since. A friend of mine thinks that when they changed the tourk converter at Ford it may have corrected the problem. Maybe there was a pinched wire somewhere that got loose when they took the transmission out. If you have not gotten any recall letters in the mail call your local Ford dealership and ask if there are any recalls on your van. If there are they have to fix them free of charge and if your lucky like I was maybe the issue with the battery will be corrected.
it could be, sounds like the tourk converter lock up clutch is not releasing, bad converter, or lockup solenoid, relay or wireing, wireing could be shorted. Good Luck
