It's a 2010
These ball joints require a ball joint press loosen axle nut then remove wheels, front brake caliper and mount. now there are 3 bolts that hold the wheel bearing hub assembly on remove if has ABS then remove wiring harness with hub (you have to hammer free) once off then side axle shaft out hole. remove both nuts that hold ball joints to steering knuckle and differential install press and remove and install then reassemble NOTE rent a ball joint press or buy a cheap one from harbor freight.
First things first. Why do think you need ball joints in a 4 year old truck? What kind of noise is it making? If you absolutely need to replace them, auto zone has free loaner tools, you pay a deposit(replacement cost) on the tool and when your done, return for complete refund. They have a kit for removal and replacement of most ball joints. Unless you have realllly dogged the dodo out of your truck, the ball joints should last way more than 4 years, and are possibly still under warranty. If it is a popping noise your hearing, look at your stabilizer bar. Ball joints have a loud squeal when turning when they go bad, like a hinge that needs grease.you have to remove the entire suspension to change the ball joints. If you are not sure of what your doing, you really need to get a manual...I recommend Haynes manuals. They are sold at most parts stores and have comprehensive instructions on how to remove and install almost anything on your truck as well as a thorough troubleshooting section.
My brother bought it from a farmer also it does squeal and we put a dodge wobble kit to make the stabilizer bar more sturdy.
Dodge the death wobble these trucks came with too small of steering linkage they flex too much causing the wobble and dodge did not fix this problem until 2013 year model which has a much larger steering linkage i am not sure if it can be retrofitted. yes the ball joints are also a weak point i have change many of them . as for renting the free tools at autozone is great make sure it is a 4 wheel drive ball joint press kit some do not have the proper collars to do it right.
