Could be a bad fuse , selenoid , or the motor fried up ? Just hope It;s not in the wiring

Hi, will the rear tailgate not open ? Have you tried testing the fuse it should be located under the bonnet/ hood back right hand side F 31 .this window is more complex than others given that doors need to be unlocked, tailgate opening handle switch needs to function .

Very typical for the window motor to fail. The tailgate will not open when the window isn't rolled down. If there is voltage to the terminals of the window motor when you actuate the switch but the motor does not turn, replace the motor. Once you are able to roll the window down, the tailgate should open again.

you have to climb over back seat and pull panel off tailgate pull the motor out and let window down by hand .

Cant open "swing out part of tailgate drop down

it will not do both at same time and for some reason its not senson it is closed properly

My regulator went bad and i cant get the tailgate to open info center says tailgate see manual

Try lowering the window with your key. After it is completely lowered try opening it either way, down or swing out. When you get it open, lubricate all moving parts.

I wound the tailgate window up while the door was open. Now it wont go down and I cant close the door.

put the doorlocks on the side of your tailgate into the locked position, then you will be able to retract the window. Once that is done, grab a screwdriver and unlock those locks so you can close the tailgate.

No there is no bypass. The Motor in my tailgate crapped out on me last year partly to do with a rusted out tailgate that let water in! I replaced my tailgate, but in my research found that the only way to get the window down was to remove the inside panels on the tailgate, un screw the cover plate, and then unbolt the motor to allow the window to drop enough to open the tailgate. Once the tailgate is down it will be easier to see the internals and remove the motor. Hope this helps you

if there are no broken wires inside the tailgate try lubing the latches with WD40 and open and close the tailgate several times. If the latches are properly closed on both sides the window will not work

Back door wont open and window wont go down

The rear window has to be completely down in order to move the tailgate! You should be happy that your window is stuck up, unlike mine which is stuck all the way down! I have to completly take apart my tailgate!! If you want to try a trick to get the rear window down, my bronco has a rear window switch right next to the headlight knob, take the 2 purple wires on that window switch, and cross them, if your motor still works and if the wires are good, that should make the window go down!!! good luck, hope that helps!
