Re: How to Reattach 2005 Hyundai sonata rear view mirror?
Best way is to go to a speedy auto glass or windshield repair shop and they will usually do it for $20. And you won't have to mess around with it again.

If you are4 asking how to reattach mirror to windshield go to auto parts store and buy a mirror attachment kit. Follow directions. It should not be a problem.
Take your remote and hold it up towards your rear view mirror or your visor whitchever is the one with 3 buttons of your homelink , also make shure that your opener has a program button which come in different colors depending on the year of the machine, if you have a program button on your powerhead of your garage door opener then you can mostlikely program your car to it! The button on garage door opener comes in different colors such as yellow, green ,orange, black, grey and black ! make shure your opener has one of these buttons! Now take your remote and point it within a few inches of your visor/rearview mirror and hold the button down that oppens that door....now press the first button on your car mirror/visor until the door opens up , it take sometimes a few trys but remember to leave your car running while doing this and have it outside the front of your garage door while doing this!
You'll have to buy a new one, as side mirrors cannot be repaired. Google "2009 sonata mirror" and find a good price online. Make sure to buy the correct side--RH is passenger side, LH is driver's side. Cost is about $65. If your mirrors are painted, you will also need to have it painted, as they only come in black.
Elantra/Sonata mirror controls switch is most likely cause. Play with the switch by moving it back and forth between LH & RH a couple of dozen times, then try it again. If it starts to work, the problem is intermittent contact in the control switch. If not, you'll need to check for any problems in the wiring between the switch and the mirror connector pins. If you don't find any problem with the wiring or connections, the problem is in the mirror itself.
glass shops do it all the time.call a windshield repair place and ask how they do it...either heat or a chemical that dissolves the adhesive, which is a special glue.
