How to remove cd changer

I bought this vehicle which has a cd changer, looks like factory installed in the area between front seats. I cannot figure out how to take it out to see what kind it is, it needs a magazine.

If it's a factory unit, call Ford dealership and tell them your vin and they should be able to tell you what magazine it takes. To remove, there's 2 screws at the bottom of the center console, inside next to cd player, under rubber mat.remove them and complete plastic trim, console bucket, will lift out.might have to wiggle it a little but will lift, then there's 4 screws holding bracket for cd player. Unplug and remove. You maybe able to see part number without removing player

We need to remove the drives side head rest to install a seat cover, but we cannot figure out how to remove the head rest. How do you remove the driver's side head rest?

Head Restraints Removal
  1. Unscrew front seat head rest guide rod retainers (610A18) .
  1. Pull up on front seat back head restraint (611A08) . Compress foam in area of front seat head rest guide rod sleeves (610A16) .
  1. Remove front seat back head restraint positioning springs. Pull front seat back head restraint up and out.
Installation
  1. Slide front seat head rest guide rod retainers onto front seat back head restraint posts.
  1. Compress foam in front seat head rest guide rod sleeve area. Install positioning springs on front seat head rest guide rod sleeves .
  1. Insert front seat back head restraint posts (notches on posts facing rearward) into front seat head rest guide rod sleeves and push down to engage positioning spring.
  1. NOTE: Front seat back head restraint must operate smoothly throughout its range of travel, must remain in any fixed position, and must not be freely removable from the seat back. If any of these conditions are not met, check for proper installation of positioning spring onto front seat head rest guide rod sleeve .

Tighten front seat head rest guide rod retainers onto front seat head rest guide rod sleeves .
  1. Adjust front seat back head restraint by applying hand pressure, either up or down, to center area of front seat back head restraint .

Where do i find the multidisc cd player in a freelander

On 2004 model year models some head units (dependant on vehicle spec) where capable of loading 6 CD's. There is a specific load procedure in the audio handbook supplied with vehicles. Aftermarket/accessory CD changers are usually installed under one of the front seats.

Lexus ES330, how to access the stereo / Nav back?

If you have the bill go back to Best Buy. The installers should not render factory equipment useless because they made a mistake in installation. The fact they unplugged the changer is proof they knew they messed up. The navigation unit should have a serial # and it should be on their records. If you get a hassle, direct them to your listing here at Fixya. The more people read this the worst Best Buy looks.

I have a 2001 chevy blazer trailblazer with factory installed 6 cd changer in the armrest between the front seats. last summer the CD player started acting up. It will not recognize the CDs and may play...

This sounds like the CD is dirty, try getting a CD Cleaner disk, they are economical enough.
After years of use the lens on the CD can get dirty, one or two cleanings sometimes clears this up.
If you smoke in the car the lens will need continual cleaning every 3 mos or so.

Hope this works out for ya.

Replace 2005 Nissan altima stereo receiver

Try radio shack, or stereo sales/installation place for ready to go plug adapter. For a few bucks, it saves headaches, and butchering the wiring in case you want to re-install old one later when trading in or selling the car.
