Oil from the oil pan moves to the cylinder head with the aid of an oil pump. The suction pipe of the pump is immersed in the oil pan. It has a fine mesh filter at its tip.
Remove the oil pan and clean the filter. If still not ok you need to have a look at the oil pump.
FYI. The PCV valve's function id to relieve pressure inside the cam cover.
Turn the ignition to run position with out starting engine, same with key or push button, push accelerator pedal to the floor three times with in 15 seconds. don't have to stomp it. Remember, do not have engine running. Hope this helps you.
drain the oil and use a engine flush oil , follow the instructions to the letter ,may have to repeat after next oil change, do them every 3000 miles including the filter, nothing beats good maintainance 15k what was you thinking !
Don't drive it! If it's flashing because you have low oil pressure you will damage the engine. The oil could be low, the oil pump may have failed or the oil.pickup filter in the sump may be clogged so it's not picking up oil. The fact that it's jumping means it may seize if it's not already damaged.
When was the last time you had a complete tune-up?
Spark plugs, wires, distributor cap rotor (cap), fuel filter, & air filter. These are all simple things that keep you car running efficiently. These, along with the oil and oil filter will protect your motor, improve it's reliability, and maintain gas efficiency.
I have an '09 Borrego, the oil filter is located on the front of the motor below the harmonic balancer, To access it remove the lower valenca panel under the front behind the bumper. There are 7 bolts holding the panel on, remove all 7 bolts and the panel will drop free. You will see the oil filter housing just above the sway bar and below the harmonic balancer. You can use a 1-1/16" socket and a 6"-12" extension to remove the filter cap. Make sure to get the V-8 filter, it is not the same as the 6 cyl filter.
It holds 4 quarts of 5w20 oil with oil/filter change, your choice of a major brand including Royal Purple. I recommend an AC/Delco filter. I know that does not sound right but it holds 4 quarts and not one bit more. Change the oil/filter and add 4 quarts every 5,000 miles. Check the level after starting the engine and running for 1 minute and letting sit for 30 minutes and you will find it to be full. The lug nut torque is 100 lb/ft. It holds 17.5 gallons of fuel.
