How do i get my volvo s80 to shift out of park!

my volvo s80 t6 air conditioning not working well and often cause over heating. why?

sorry man your problem is your computer detected a problem in your transmission that needs to be open,more likely needs a new set of clutches..........the set is not to expensive but the actual labor is,so good luck.

see my friend easy fix,the problem you are having is a wire problem that locks or unlocks the shifter from the park potition and also unlocks the key from the ignition switch is just getting stuck inside the ignition switch, so more likely needs lubrication you can do it yourself or have a machanic do it
for you,maybe replace it with a new one( wich i dont think is nesesary) take it out clean it, put new grease and it should be good to go, good luck.This wire is conected to the ignition switch, on the right side and can be pulled out with your hand.

yes you soliniod in trans is stuck replace or buy a used trans an install

You probably have your car in an inclined position, and may have the transmision system stuck.

With the vehicle running, simply have 2 or 3 persons help in rocking (slight push) the vehicle in the opposite position of the inclination while you attempt changing the gear from park to N.

That should fix it.
