Depends on the engine. If the recommendation is to use regular oil then do not use synthetic. I can cause leaks as an engine ages . If it is recommended then use it . Just keep in mind synthetic is thinner and its molecular make up makes for a much slipperier oil . Regular oil is great in that it offers a little thicker viscosity and its molecular makeup compensates for microscopic wearing as the tolerances between the cylinders and the sleeve decreases with time.
Me i find synthetic oil to be better in winter the engine turn faster in cold start but it mush more expensive to use synthetic if your looking to save money synthetic oil good for 15000 km regular around 5000km use synthetic oil because its better for the engine not to save money
Follow the instructions in the drivers manual. it may recommend other grades of oil for winter and summer, modern engines can be damaged by the wrong grade of oil.
Doesn't the RDX require Mobile 1 synthetic oil?
