Why would black smoke come out of the back of my car, after having waterpump fixed? This car has never ever smoked..

Also hard to start, which has also never happened.

My mercedes 1980 230c black smoke and hard to start

Black smoke means your fuel is too rich and almost floods your engine when trying to start. Makes it hard to start as well Could be your choke is not working properly. Just a thought.

Recently acquired case 70 xt skid steer w/cummins 3.9. has heavy black smoke under load when cold and is hard to start..?

Run a compression test for the hard start problem. Heavy black smoke indicates unburned fuel. Have the injectors flow tested.

2010 Chevy silverado starts hard and puffs smoke when cold

Black smoke is too much fuel. My guess would be that there is an injector that is stuck open draining the pressurized fuel into a cylinder or several cylinders. And that is a considerable amount of fuel. And it would account for the hard start because there isn't any fuel being pumped into the other injectors until the pump builds the pressure back up.

Hard to start then black smoke out exhaust rough idle

Check the fuel pressure regulator. It may be bad. Pull off the vacuum hose to it and check for any sign of gas in the hose. A busted diaphragm in the regulator could let extra gas into the intake through the vacuum hose. The black smoke indicates it is getting too much gas-running rich.

I just bought this tempo it starts but after i have been driving for about 20 min it starts to smoke and it starts to get hot it stops then you hav eto get a jump to start it.

It sounds like you have brought a lemon as if it hard to start when cold then its lacking compression which is worn engine piston rings and valve guides, and if it starts smoking when driving and if its BLUE smoke then its bad piston rings And if its BLACK smoke then its to much petrol getting into the engine which will also cause the engine to wear out quick as its washing the bores with fuel instead of oil,and that will also stop the engine from starting when hot,
SO if its BLUE smoke replace the engine
If BLACK smoke repair fuel fault.

How much should my Ford ranger 2.5td be smoking,is it normal for diesel engens to smoke.

Sometimes diesel engines will put out black smoke under extreme acceleration. Other than that, they shouldn't smoke. Black is excess fuel, White smoke is water and bluish is oil. White smoke on a cool morning is not necessarily a sign of a problem unless it happens every time you start it through a warm day. Hope this helps.
