SOURCE: how to change oil pressure sending unit on jeep

First things first do you have a repair manual? If you don't have one get one, Changing the unit is realitively simple, you just disconnect the battery, disconnect the oil pressure sending unit's electrical connector, remove the sending unit, now most sending units are small and look like a short chubby spark plug with an electrical blade connector on the end of it. simply use a wrench to loosin and remove and install by screwing in and tightening and reconnecting the electrical connecter then the battery and your as good as new!

move car to dirt or ice, gravel , off pavement
PT is not for pavement unless covered in ice.
the operators guide told you that.

How can i use the 4 x 4 in my 2000 grand cherokee laredo (6 cyl) i dont have the owners manual and i dont know how to use my 4x4 on snow or something like that

With the Jeep in park, move the left shifter to 4 wheel drive. Proceed to put right shifter into drive, proceed to drive. Only use 4wheel drive when neccessary...ie...snow, mud, use 4 wheel lo in steep incline or when really bogged down.

Hope this helps

My 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee won't start when in park but starts fine when in neutral. What do you suggest?

It sounds like your shifter cable may be out of adjustment, this is more common in chryslers, you may need to adjust the shifter to get it to start. also the neutral safety switch may be faulty. but when those go bad the car may not start at all.

Shift cable

you will have to tear apart the center console to gain access to the shifter and cable assy, then you will have to get under the rig to unhook it from the trans, pay attention to what gear it is in and the location and routing of the cable, have fun!

Shift problems 01 jeep grand cherokee laredo

Hi. the very first thing you will want to do is check the fluid level in the transmission. If the fluid level is good and the filter is also in good condition, you should go to the next step. This next check will be shifter cable. if it checks out ok like you stated, the next problem spot will be the shift solenoids. these are very important and they preform the shifting action once you initiate it by using the shifter. if the shift solenoids are bad or malfunctioning, you will experience these shifting interruptions as you are today. Replacing the shift solenoids will fix this issue. They are located inside of the actual transmission pan.

please rate and god bless.

96 grand jeep cherokee is jammed into park

the simple fix might be the park interlock cable. this locks the shifter unless you press and hold the brake pedal while selecting gears. I've seen and replaced a few of these on several chrysler/dodge vehicles.
