For code p0087 replace the GDI GASOLINE DIRECT INJECTION (HIGH PRESSURE PUMP( the pump is in the top o the engine down the plastic cover- they have two gasoline lines an one electrical connector, and 2 bolts . remove return line, remove the electrical connector, loose the 19mm bolt for the main gasoline line dont move this line, remove bolts of the pump and move it away, when you work with gasoline lines is dangerous (it is at you own risk( THE CODE P0191 IS RELATED FOR FUEL RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR usually appears with p0087. symtoms of bad fuel pump: long cranking time,,erratic idle. not enough power. no start condition= pump is easy to change=

SOURCE: Hyundai Sonata 2006 - Check Engine light came on.

"Fuel system too lean at idle". It's an air/fuel ratio that is not correct, possibly a vacuum leak somewhere. Or a leaky exhaust pipe. Could be related to intake manifold gasket. Somewhere, air is getting into the engine.

I suggest taking it back to the dealer under warranty. I think Hyundai is 10yr./100k for the original owner. 5yr./50k if not. Ask first if covered, and ask why not id not covered.

Purge Control Valve Problem

The "Purge Control Solenoid Valve" is the "Purge Control Valve".

Rough idle is a typical symptom of something amiss with the purge control portion of the evaporative emissions system. It could be the valve itself is not operating correctly, the evap canister (vapor canister) may be leaking, or full of raw gas instead of vapor, or maybe even the purge control valve is getting a faulty signal from the ECU.

The soleniod is checked by applying a voltage to it and checking to see if it closes, or opens (I'm not sure if its un-energized state is normally open, or normally closed). If the valve is bad it is a no-brainer to replace.

The vapor canister can be removed and checked to see if it is full of raw gas (not supposed to be), but checking it for leaks is a bit involved, and probably requires equipmet not normally owned by a home mechanic. Vapor canister failure on cars with a lot of miles is common. Replacement is the fix.

Of course if the ECU is not sending a purge signal to the valve correctly, figuring out why may proove difficult, and possibilities could even include a faulty ECU. I expect this is unlikely though.

It's a $20 part. I first would change pcv valve because it can give same error if it's plugged up. You can always remove it and shake it. It should rattle around real easy. If not, it should be repalced

SOURCE: What is a P0105 check engine code on a 2004 Hyundai Sonata?

The code is telling you there is a problem with the MAP sensor which measures vacuum in the intake and outside air pressure.
The sensor needs to be tested and possibly replaced.

What parts do you recommend for a fault on my Hyundai Tucson which has developed faults?

uh oh, 1186 and 0087 are both related... fuel pump or the filter or both! either case the filter is now located inside the fuel tank

P1186 Hyundai Fuel Pressure Too Low

P0087 Fuel Rail System Pressure Too Low

"Potential causes of a P0087 trouble code may include: Weak fuel pump, clogged filter or screen, restricted fuel supply line Faulty fuel pump driver module Faulty fuel pressure sensor"

How to Change the Fuel Filter on Hyundai Tucson eHow

according to eHow, you can access the filter relatively easily. (although the pic is an illustration of something not really related to this ~ why they showing a fuel petcock that's not even on your car?)

P2112 Throttle Actuator Control System Stuck Closed

"Possible causes:
- Throttle Body Plate Binding
- Faulty Throttle Actuator
- Throttle Actuator harness is open or shorted
- Throttle Actuator circuit poor electrical connection"

older models we had the gas pedal attached to a cable to move the butterfly valve on the throttle body. Now it's this newer drive-by-wire stuff... remove air intake hose and check / clean / move the throttle body valve by hand first to see if it's binding or not

then, go from there on testing the actuator and tps

How to fix code P0087?

(LOW FUEL RAIL PRESSURE)
First: try changing your fuel filter.
If that don't work you may have a faulty fuel pump or a clog along the line. Good luck.

Getting firing code error for cylinders 1,3 & 5 on my 1999 Sonata

I was wrong about the distributor being round (I was thinking about my other car). I found variations about the firing order but after troubbleshooting, varified the plug wiring order from the front of the car is 1 - 4 - 5 - 2 - 3 - 6 not 1 - 4 - 5 - 2 - 6 - 3 found on several web sites. From the front of the car looking at the engine, the back three cylinders by the firewall going from left to right are 1, 3, 5. The front three are 2, 4 & 6.
