Motor runs in reverse go foward about 20 ft motor dies

uses different electric motor to go up & down =forward reverse motor jammed or useless

The only difference that comes to mind is that the motor mount may be broke, when in reverse it rocks one way and keeps running. When in forward it rocks the other way and lets something short out, or messing with some electrical connection and quits.

thrust bearing needs replacing clutch

run fault codes and look for a reverse servo failure.. Check the TCM is working .

Time for a rebuild,trans is gone

your vette has a steering colom problem, it most be fixed by a dealer, I know it happened to me.

All Others

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
2. Remove or disconnect the following:
   Negative battery cable and wait at least 3 minutes Speedometer cable and shift cable from the transaxle Starter motor wiring Starter motor bolts and the starter

To install:

1. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten motor retainers to 20-25 ft. lbs. (27-34 Nm).

this sounds like a vaccum line and can very hard to find but if you spray carb cleaner over them while its running and your motor starts to miss then you found it . hope that helps

Possible motor mount worn. Stop at a reputable garage, they should be able to confirm for you at a glance.

syncro is shot take it to a transmisson shop... or put up with it till it dies
